International agreements

    • Protocol on the Accession of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP);
    • UK-Norway-Liechtenstein-Iceland Convention on Social Security Coordination;
    • Protocol amending the International Convention on the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (“Palma Protocol”);
    • UK-Canada Air Services Agreement;
    • UK-Azerbaijan International Road Transport;
    • UK-Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Air Services Agreement.

The Committee agreed to consider its draft report on the agreements at a future meeting.

The Committee welcomed the UK Government’s decision to not commence the pre-ratification scrutiny process for the Protocol on the Accession of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the CPTPP for at least three months, which will allow more time for committees to undertake scrutiny of the published protocol.

The Committee agreed to write to Welsh Government in relation to two of the agreements: the UK-Norway-Liechtenstein-Iceland Convention on Social Security Coordination and the Protocol amending the International Convention on the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas.

The Committee also agreed to draw the international agreements to the attention of relevant Senedd and UK Parliament committees.
