Legislative Consent: Procurement Bill

The Procurement Bill (the Bill) was introduced in the House of Lords on 11 May 2022.

The long title to the Bill notes that it is a Bill “to make provision about procurement.”

The Bill is subject to the legislative consent process under Standing Order 29. This is when the consent of the Welsh Parliament is sought by the UK Government to legislate on an issue which falls  within the competence of the Senedd.

Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum – December 2022 
On 19 December 2022 the Welsh Government laid a Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum (PDF 460KB).

The Business Committee agreed (PDF 38.7 KB) that the Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Procurement Bill will be considered and reported on, to the Senedd, by 2 March 2023

 

Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum – December 2022 

On 6 December 2022 the Welsh Government laid a Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum (PDF 504KB).

The Business Committee agreed (PDF 38.9KB) that the Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Procurement Bill will be considered and reported on, to the Senedd, by 16 February 2023.


On 10 January 2023, the Business Committee agreed (PDF 38.7KB) a new reporting deadline of 2 March 2023.

Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum – July 2022 

On 11 July 2022 the Welsh Government laid a Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum (PDF 186 KB).

The Business Committee agreed (PDF 38.1KB) that the Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Procurement Bill will be considered and reported on, to the Senedd, by 10 November 2022.

On 20 September 2022, the Business Committee agreed (PDF 39.7KB) a new reporting deadline of 24 November 2022.

The Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee laid its report (343KB) on 26 October 2022.

Legislative Consent Memorandum – June 2022
The Welsh Government laid a Legislative Consent Memorandum (LCM) (PDF 212 KB) on the Bill before the Senedd on 9 June 2022.


The Business Committee referred the LCM to the Public Accounts and Public Administration Committee and the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee with a reporting deadline of 6 October 2022


On 28 June 2022, the Business Committee agreed (PDF 40KB) a new reporting deadline of 10 November 2022.

On 20 September 2022, the Business Committee agreed (PDF 39.7KB) a new reporting deadline of 24 November 2022
