Legislative Consent: Procurement Bill
The Procurement Bill
(the Bill) was introduced in the House of Lords on 11 May 2022.
The long title to the Bill notes that it is a Bill “to make provision
about procurement.”
The Bill is subject to the legislative consent process under Standing
Order 29. This is when the consent of the Welsh Parliament is sought by the
UK Government to legislate on an issue which falls within the competence of the
Senedd.
The provisions
under Legislative Consent Motion 1 for the Procurement Bill were agreed in
Plenary on 28
March 2023. The provisions under Legislative Consent Motion 2 were not
agreed.
A Legislative
Consent Motion for the Procurement Bill was agreed in plenary on
5 July 2023.

On 21 June 2023 the Welsh Government laid a Supplementary
Legislative Consent Memorandum (PDF 181KB).

Procurement Bill will be considered and reported on, to the Senedd, by 3 July
2023.
The Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee laid its report (184KB)
