Forward Work Programme - Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee

The Forward Work Programme of the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee sets out the work which the Committee is intending to carry out in the following weeks and months.

The Committee was established on 26 May 2021 to carry out the functions of the responsible committee set out in Standing Order 21 and Standing Order 26C, and to consider any other matter relating to: legislation, devolution, the constitution (including Wales’s constitutional future), justice, and external affairs.

An on-going part of the Committee’s work under Standing Order 21 is the scrutiny of subordinate legislation laid before the Senedd.

The Committee is also tasked with considering Welsh Government’s Legislative Consent Memoranda in relation to UK Bills, further details of which (including reporting deadlines) can be found on the respective Legislative Consent pages.

Any documents published indicate the current intentions of the Committee at the time of publishing, however the programme may change at any time to respond to external events.

The Committee’s remit

In January 2022, the Business Committee wrote to the Senedd’s committees as part of a review of the committee timetable and committee remits. The Committee responded on 4 February 2022, which informed the Business Committee’s final report.
