Motion to elect a temporary Chair under Standing Order 17.22 for agenda item 11

There was a temporary Chair nomination under Standing Order 17.22, and the nomination was agreed. The Committee elected Alun Davies MS as a temporary Chair for item 11 of the meeting.

International agreements

The Committee considered and agreed its draft report on the international agreements considered at its meeting on 4 December 2023.

 

The Committee also considered the UK-Rwanda Asylum Partnership Agreement to Strengthen Shared International Commitments on the Protection of Refugees and Migrants.  The Committee agreed to write to the Welsh Government and to draw the agreement to the attention of the Equality and Social Justice Committee and the House of Lords International Agreements Committee. It also agreed to consider a draft report on the agreement at its next meeting.

Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill: Draft report

In accordance with the motion agreed by the Committee, Alun Davies acted as temporary chair for agenda item 11.

 

Huw Irranca-Davies MS, Adam Price MS and Samuel Kurtz MS gave their apologies. The Committee welcomed Carolyn Thomas MS, Luke Fletcher MS and James Evans MS as substitutions.

The Committee considered and agreed its draft report on the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill, subject to some minor changes which would be finalised by email.
