EU structural funding

The Committee noted the Wales Audit Office report on ‘EU Structural Funding’ published in April 2014. The report examined the administration of the 2007-2013 European Union (EU) structural funding programmes in Wales. As the ‘Managing Authority’, these programmes are managed by the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO), a division of the Welsh Government, and are overseen by a Programme Monitoring Committee. Individual projects are overseen by a ‘project sponsor’ organisation but can involve several partner organisations.
