UK Government’s Initial Response to Silk Commission Part 1 Report

The Committee considered the UK Government’s response to the Silk Commission’s first report on fiscal powers and agreed to undertake further work on this issue with regard to devolution of powers over the budget process and how this may occur, given the UK Government’s stated intention to devolve tax and borrowing and the need for a fit for purpose budget process to be in place prior to such powers being utilised.
