General scrutiny session with the Chief Dental Officer

The Health and Social Care Committee undertook periodic scrutiny of the Chief Dental Officer for Wales.

The Chief Dental Officer for Wales is responsible for:

• leading the dental profession in Wales and has a strategic role in oral health regulation, education, training, standards and performance;
• providing leadership in the development of policy and legislation relating to the dental profession and oral health; and
• working across all Welsh Government departments and with a range of external partners to improve oral health and reduce inequalities.
