Inquiry into the proposed abolition of the Agricultural Wages Board

Inquiry into the proposed abolition of the Agricultural Wages Board

The United Kingdom Government decided to abolish the Agricultural Wages Board (‘the AWB’) in England and Wales.

The Welsh Government wanted to see it retained in Wales.

The Environment and Sustainability Committee decided to look into the proposed abolition of the Agricultural Wages Board. In particular, the Committee agreed to look at the opportunities that establishing a board for Wales could present.

A legislative consent memorandum in relation to the abolition of the AWB has also been debated in Plenary.
