Consultation – to identify any ‘gaps’ as prescribed within the Committee’s remit, arising from the UK Covid-19 Inquiry Module 1 Report.

 

December 2024

Experts in Civil Contingencies and Emergency Planning from Nottingham Trent University to complete a gap analysis of the UK Covid 19 Public Inquiry module 1 report and the Welsh Interim Operational Review. Dr Simon Williams from Swansea University to provide input into this work.

 

2 December 2024

Stakeholder engagement event - to engage with all stakeholders, discuss and identify any gaps arising from the UK Covid-19 Inquiry Module 1 Report.

 

January 2025

Committee to consider consultation responses / Gap analysis by Nottingham Trent University.

 

December 2024 / January 2025

UK and Welsh governments response to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry Module 1 Report.

 

January 2025

On completion of the above, propose to the Senedd by motion, any gaps identified in the preparedness and response of the Welsh Government and other Welsh public bodies during the Covid-19 pandemic that should be subject to further examination.

 

February/March 2025

Subject to the approval by the Senedd of these gaps – to hold a number of evidence sessions with relevant witnesses and the Welsh Government.

 

March/April 2025

Committee to publish its report.

 

April 2025

Plenary debate on the Committee’s Report.
