Performance of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water

Following reports of a decline in Dŵr Cymru’s performance and recent media coverage of ‘illegal spillages of untreated sewage’ from several of its Wastewater Treatment Works (‘WwTW’), the Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee agreed to undertake a short piece of work to consider these and related matters.

Evidence gathering:

The Chair wrote to Dŵr Cymru in relation to its downgrade on 25 July 2023 (PDF 82KB) and Dŵr Cymru responded on 4 August 2023 (PDF 865KB).

To help inform its work the Committee held oral evidence sessions with stakeholders on Thursday 9 November 2023.
