Biodiversity and the nature emergency
Biodiversity and the nature emergency
The Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee is undertaking a piece of work on how the outcome of COP15 is shaping the Welsh Government’s response to the nature emergency and related matters.
The Committee is considering how Wales can best implement the COP15 international agreement on biodiversity at a domestic level. This could be through, legislation; updating policies including the Nature Recovery Action Plan and Natural Resources Policy; and implementing the recommendations from the Biodiversity Deep Dive.
Evidence gathering
In order to inform this work the Committee held oral evidence sessions at its meeting on Thursday 8 June 2023. More information on the evidence sessions can be found under the meetings tab at the top of the page.
