Health Service Procurement (Wales) Act 2024
About the Bill
A Welsh Government Bill,
introduced by Eluned Morgan MS, Minister for Health and
Social Services. The Business Committee has remitted the Bill to the Health
and Social Care Committee.
The Bill includes
provision for:
- A
‘disapplication power’ to enable the Welsh Ministers to disapply
provisions of the UK Government’s Procurement Bill (once
passed) that would otherwise apply to the procurement of health services
in Wales.
- A ‘creation
power’ to enable Welsh Ministers to develop and implement a new
procurement regime for health services in Wales through subordinate
legislation.
