Annual scrutiny of the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales (NICW)

The Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee (“the Committee”) will undertake annual scrutiny of the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales (NICW) during the Sixth Senedd.

 

The National Infrastructure Commission for Wales is a non-statutory, advisory panel that gives advice to the Welsh Government on the infrastructure Wales needs.

 

Annual Scrutiny - 2023

The Annual Report 2022/2023 was published on 20 December 2023. The Committee undertook its annual scrutiny of the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales on Wednesday 31 January 2024.

Annual scrutiny - 2022-23

The Annual Report 2021/2022 was published on 22 November 2022. The Committee held its first annual scrutiny with the Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales at its meeting on 7 December 2022.

Scrutiny of the Chair Designate to the Commission - 2021

On 21 September 2021 the Deputy Minister for Climate Change wrote to the Chair of the Committee outlining the Welsh Government’s preferred appointee for the role of Chair of the NICW.

The Committee held a scrutiny session with the Chair Designate of the Commission at its meeting on 30 September 2021. The Committee published its report (PDF 703KB) on 12 October 2021. The Deputy Minister for Climate Change responded (PDF 254KB) on 19 November 2021.
