The Public Accounts and Public Administration Committee (PAPAC) is gathering information about the funding of Commissioners in Wales. This follows the publication of the Equality and Social Justice (ESJ) Committee’s report Annual scrutiny of the Future Generations Commissioner: An update in April 2022.

The Chair of ESJ wrote to the Chair of PAPAC on 7 April 2022 further to their annual scrutiny session with the Future Generations Commissioner.

The Chair of PAPAC responded on 10 May 2022, to advise that the Committee had considered ESJ’s letter and noted recommendation 1 of its report at PAPAC’s meeting on 27 April 2022. In addition, the Committee noted their agreement to return to further scrutiny of the work of Welsh Commissioners as part of the Committee’s annual accounts scrutiny work.
