The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and its management, on health and social care in Wales - Sixth Senedd

The Health and Social Care Committee of the Sixth Senedd* is undertaking work on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and its management, on the issues within its remit.

 

Work undertaken to date:

Ø  On 23 September 2021, the Committee received an update on the pandemic from the Chief Medical Officer for Wales, the Chief Scientific Adviser for Health and the Welsh Government’s Technical Advisory Cell.

Ø  On 7 October 2021, the Committee held a private discussion with academic experts on issues relating to COVID recovery.

Ø  On 13 January 2022, the Committee asked topical questions of the Minister for Health and Social Services.

Ø  On 10 February 2022, the Committee asked topical questions of the Minister for Health and Social Services.

Ø  On 1 April 2022, the Committee wrote to the Chair of the UK COVID-19 Inquiry and the First Minister about the Inquiry’s draft terms of reference.

Ø  Between autumn 2021 and spring 2022 the Committee held an open call for evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and its management, on health and social care in Wales

 

*The Sixth Senedd started following the elections in May 2021. An Inquiry with similar terms of reference was carried out by the Health Social Care and Sport Committee of the Fifth Senedd between March 2020 and April 2021
