The Health and Social Care Committee of the Sixth Senedd* is undertaking work on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and its management, on the issues within its remit.

>>>On 23 September 2021, the Committee received an update on the pandemic from the Chief Medical Officer for Wales, the Chief Scientific Adviser for Health and the Welsh Government’s Technical Advisory Cell.
>>>On 7 October 2021, the Committee held a private discussion with academic experts on issues relating to COVID recovery.
>>>On 13 January 2022, the Committee asked topical questions of the Minister for Health and Social Services.
>>>On 10 February 2022, the Committee asked topical questions of the Minister for Health and Social Services. Following the session the Minister provided a written briefing regarding domestic and international COVID passes.
>>> Between autumn 2021 and spring 2022 the Committee held an open call for evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and its management, on health and social care in Wales. This consultation closed in spring 2022.
>>>On 1 April 2022, the Committee wrote to the Chair of the UK COVID-19 Inquiry and the First Minister about the Inquiry’s draft terms of reference. On 3 April 2022, the First Minister responded to the Committee’s letter.
>>>On 11 July 2022 the Committee wrote to the Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing to seek an update on recommendations made by the Fifth Senedd Health, Social Care and Sport Committee in its inquiry into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the response to it on mental health and wellbeing.
