Regenerating town centres in Wales

The Auditor General for Wales published this Report in September 2021 which primarily focusses on the activities of local authorities in regenerating town centres but also considered how they collaborated with their public sector partners and other stakeholders, including businesses and citizens. The review also considered national policy and guidance, and the range of local, regional, and national structures, collaborative and partnership architecture, and funding and delivery arrangements.

Audit Wales intend that this work will provide a ‘real time’ commentary on the benefit of a new approach to regeneration as local authorities and their communities respond to the impact of COVID-19.

The Public Accounts & Public Administration Committee considered and noted this Report in Autumn 2021.
