Voting Time

Voting Time

If, at the end of an item of Plenary business, the Senedd does not agree to a motion or amendment without objection, votes for that item are usually deferred to a later item on the agenda. This item appears on the agenda as Voting Time.

Voting in Plenary is generally taken using an electronic voting system. Members may also vote in Plenary or committees by a simple show of hands or a formal role call if required.

A summary of how Members have voted in a Plenary meeting is published as a Votes Summary on the relevant meeting page, usually within 30 minutes of the end of the meeting.

Detailed guidance on voting, including Proxy Voting, is available in the Guidance on the proper conduct of Senedd business – Issued by the Llywydd under Standing Order 6.17.
