2021 Senedd election

The next Senedd ordinary general election is scheduled for Thursday, 6 May 2021.

On 15 June, the First Minister outlined that arrangements for the 2021 Senedd elections may need to be adjusted in connection with the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The statement announced that the Welsh Government had established an ‘Elections Planning Group’ (“EPG”) to “consider the potential impact on the administration of elections and any impact on legislative provision”.

On 6 November 2020, the Report of the Elections Planning Group was published. On 17 November, the Report was debated in Plenary.
