Recruitment of the Commissioner for Standards

The National Assembly for Wales Commissioner for Standards Measure 2009 enables the Welsh Parliament to appoint a Commissioner for Standards, who is an independent person appointed to provide advice and assistance on any matters of principle relating to the conduct of Members of the Senedd.

 

The Commissioner’s term of office is for a maximum of six years. The Standards of Conduct Committee is currently undertaking a recruitment exercise for a new Commissioner.

 

The Senedd appointed Douglas Bain CBE TD as the Senedd Commissioner for Standards on 17 March 2021.
