Legislative Consent: Fisheries Bill 2020

 

The Fisheries Bill (the Bill) was introduced in the House of Lords on 29 January 2020.

 

The Bill is subject to the legislative consent process under Standing Order 29. This is when the consent of the Senedd is sought by the UK Government to legislate on an issue which could normally fall within the competence of the Senedd.

 

The Welsh Government laid a Legislative Consent Memorandum (LCM) on the Bill before the Senedd on 12 February 2020.

 

The Business Committee referred the LCM to the Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee, and Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee, with a reporting deadline of Thursday 21 May 2020 (Revised on 17 April 2020).

Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum

 

On 8 July 2020, the Welsh Government laid a Supplementary LCM (PDF 153KB).

 

The Business Committee referred the LCM to the Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee, and Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee, with a reporting deadline of Thursday 24 September 2020.
