Legislative Consent: Direct Payments to Farmers (Legislative Continuity) Bill

The Direct Payments to Farmers (Legislative Continuity) (DPLC) Bill, (the Bill) was introduced in the House of Commons on 09 January 2020.

The Bill is subject to the legislative consent process under Standing Order 29. This is when the consent of the National Assembly for Wales is sought by the UK Government to legislate on an issue which could normally fall within the competence of the Assembly.

The Welsh Government laid a Legislative Consent Memorandum (LCM) in relation to the Bill before the National Assembly on 14 January 2020.

The Business Committee referred the LCM to the Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee, and Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committees, with a reporting deadline of Tuesday 21 January 2020.

The Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee laid its report on the Legislative Consent Memorandum (PDF 84KB) on Monday 20 January 2020.
