The Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committeehas agreed to undertake a short inquiry into the Welsh Government’s white paper ‘Improving public transport’.

Summary

The Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee is undertaking a piece of work to look at the Welsh Government’s white paper on how local bus services are planned and delivered and at the reform of  taxis and private hire vehicle licensing

The Committee will focus on the bus, concessionary fares and taxi and private hire vehicle aspects of the White Paper.

The terms of reference are as follows:

• To consider the opportunities and risks presented by devolution of new transport powers;
• To gather options for potential legislative reform from the relevant sectors.
