Scrutiny of the Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales strategy
Scrutiny of the Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales strategy
Inquiry5
On 17 January 2019 the Welsh Government published its draft Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales strategy for consultation.
The Children, Young People and Education Committee decided to consider the draft strategy from a children and young people’s perspective. The Committee did not intend to duplicate the Welsh Government’s consultation; rather, its aim was to ensure that, at an early stage in the development of an all-age policy, the specific needs of children and young people would be met.
Evidence gathering
On 6 March the Committee engaged directly
with a small group of relevant stakeholders. The issues identified by the
stakeholders and Members were put to the Chief Medical Officer in a public
session on 14
March.
