Agriculture and Brexit: A Committee session to identify key themes
Background
The
External Affairs and Additional
Legislation Committee organised a meeting with expert witnesses to hear about
the key issues for agriculture in Wales in the context of Brexit.
The
meeting helped the Committee understand some of the key agricultural issues
raised by Brexit with a view to mainstreaming these considerations into its
future work.
Evidence gathering
The
Committee had considered some of these issues previously in its report Implications
for Wales of leaving the European Union.
The
Assembly’s Climate Change, Environment
and Rural Affairs Committee conducted inquiries into the Impact of Brexit on fisheries in
Wales and UK common frameworks
on agriculture and environment. Please follow the embedded links to learn
more about this work.
On
21 May 2018 the Committee held an evidence session
on the impact of Brexit on agriculture.
