Auditor General for Wales's Annual Report and Accounts
The
Public Audit (Wales) Act 2013 received Royal Assent on 29 April 2013. The Act
continued the office of the Auditor General for Wales and created a new body
known as the Wales Audit Office. It also sets out accountability and governance
arrangements relating to the Auditor General for Wales and the Wales Audit
Office.
The
Wales Audit Office is run by a board, which was formally appointed on 16
October 2013.The Wales Audit Office Board had to be in place by October 2013 in
order to prepare to take on its full range of functions on 1 April 2014. Its initial work included the preparation of
an Estimate of Income and Expenses required for 2014-15 for consideration by
the National Assembly for Wales. This estimate was considered by the Finance
Committee on 13 November 2013.
