UK Government’s EU Reform Agenda
UK Government’s EU Reform Agenda
In July 2015, the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee agreed to undertake work exploring the UK Government’s EU Reform agenda. The terms of reference are to:
- Understand
the detail of the UK Government’s EU reform agenda, including the possible
impact on devolved competencies in Wales.
- Understand
the process by which the UK Government is undertaking its EU reform
discussions and how it is, and will be, involving the Devolved
Administrations and Legislatures in this.
- Better
understand the views of the EU Institutions and other Member States of the
UK Government’s EU reform agenda.
The Committee
undertook a visit to Brussels in October 2015 as the first stage of this work. During
this visit they met with a range of officials and politicians; including
officials from the European Commission, European Council and MEPs from Wales,
Ireland and the UK.
Following on from this, Committee members gave evidence to the House of Lords EU Select Committee. This can be viewed at: http://parliamentlive.tv/event/index/5f7645e8-26de-4302-9af8-8d8ece7aaff3?in=15:01:15&out=15:55:00
