Collection and management of devolved taxes in Wales
Collection and management of devolved taxes in Wales
From
April 2018 Wales will need to have a system for collecting and managing the two
new Welsh taxes. The Welsh Government decided to bring forward legislation on
tax collection and management first. A bill on these arrangements, the Tax Collection and Management (Wales)
Bill was introduced to the Assembly in summer 2015, and received Royal
Assent in April 2016.
In
preparing for these new responsibilities the Welsh Government published the
White Paper, Collection and management
of devolved taxes in Wales.
This White Paper sought views on actions that might be taken to promote and
encourage compliance and tackle non-compliance.
The
Finance Committee undertook an
inquiry into the collection of devolved taxes.
Evidence from the
Public
