Review of the Code of Conduct for Members of the Senedd

Response to the consultation

Evidence submitted in response to this Consultation

Purpose of the consultation

The Standards of Conduct Committee (the Committee) has a duty to consider matters of principle relating to the conduct of Members. As a result of its work on Individual Member Accountability and Dignity and Respect, the Committee has been considering the Code of Conduct for Members of the Senedd (the Code) to ensure that it remains relevant in our evolving parliament.

It is intended that a revised Code of Conduct will be presented to the Senedd before the end of the sixth Senedd so that it applies from the first day of the Seventh Senedd.

The Committee would welcome your views on the proposals. Please submit your response by 30 January 2026 to Seneddstandards@Senedd.wales.

Providing Written Evidence

The Senedd has two official languages, Welsh and English.

In line with the Senedd’s Official Languages Scheme, the Committee welcomes contributions in both or either of our official languages, and we ask organisations that are subject to Welsh Language standards or schemes to respond in line with their own obligations. Please inform the Committee when submitting responses if you intend to provide a translation at a later date.

Please see guidance for those providing evidence for committees.

Disclosure of information

Please ensure that you have considered the Senedd’s policy on disclosure of information before submitting information to the Committee.
