Pupil absence
Purpose of the consultation
The
Children, Young People and Education
Committee is undertaking an inquiry into Pupil Absence. The issues of pupil
absence and the impact on children and young people’s learning and wider
well-being was raised with the Committee during annual scrutiny of Estyn in
December 2021.
The
purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of stakeholders and members
of the public. The responses we receive will inform the questions we ask Welsh
Government Ministers and will feed into our final report.
Submitting
your views
We
would like you to submit your views by completing the proforma
- the proforma asks for your views against the inquiry’s terms of reference. There is also
a space for you to submit any other views that do not correspond neatly to our
terms of reference.

Providing
Written Evidence
The
Senedd has two official languages, Welsh and English.
In
line with the Senedd’s
Official Languages Scheme the Committee requests that documents or written
responses to consultations intended for publication or use in Senedd
proceedings are submitted bilingually. When documents or written responses are
not submitted bilingually, we will publish in the language submitted, stating
that it has been received in that language only.
We
expect other organisations to implement their own standards or schemes and to
comply with their statutory obligation.
