EVENT: Care Day, Voices from Care

Description: February 16th this year is annual Care Day, a day when organisations across Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland celebrate our care experienced community together and campaign on issues that matter to them. One of our themes this year is the importance of building a care system with love at its heart. Our young people have come up with the idea of creating a huge scarf made up of 7,000 squares - one for each child and young person in the care system in Wales, - and wrapping it around the public areas in the Senedd, symbolising our national Parliament and everyone in it extending a hug to every child in the care system. We would create some simple posters explaining what the care scarf is all about, and the following week when the Senedd if back after recess, we would like to bring in a small group of young people on the Tuesday or the Wednesday, so they can have informal chats with MSs, a chance to find out a bit about some of the issues we are campaigning on.
Open to the public: Attendance at the event is by invitation only however the Senedd and the Pierhead will remain accessible to the public during our normal opening hours.
