Description: Guest Speaker: Professor Olivette Otele, Distinguished Professor of the Legacies and the Memory of Slavery at SOAS, University of London. The Betty Campbell Monument inaugural lecture held in partnership with Senedd Cymru, Monumental Welsh Women and Cardiff Council as part of this year's Black History Month celebrations in the Senedd. The Annual Betty Campbell Monument lecture honours the work of Wales’s first black headteacher and champion of equality and diversity, Betty Campbell. The lecture examines the areas of life in Wales and beyond that the pioneering educator and community leader worked to improve and promote.

Open to the public: Attendance at the event is by invitation only however the Senedd and the Pierhead will remain accessible to the public during our normal opening hours.
