EVENT: "The future in our hands: Beyond politics as usual in an era of Climate and Ecological Breakdown."

Date: Wednesday 13 November 2019

Time: 18.00 - 20.00

Location: Senedd

Description: The planet is in ecological crisis: we are in the beginnings of a mass extinction event driven by human activities. Scientists are warning of the need for an urgent transformation of our society to avoid the catastrophic risks of climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk. In this talk, a Welsh earth systems scientist will share the latest information on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current psychology around climate change, touching on the implications for all government portfolios. We welcome everyone and every part of everyone: AMs from across the political spectrum, civil servants and Assembly staff. This event will be about educating, and appreciating the gravity of the future ahead, without blaming or shaming, and working together to identify courses for action.

Open to the public: The event will take place outside our normal opening hours therefore attendance will be by invitation only
