EVENT: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Professor Michael Sullivan - 20 years of Devolution

Description: This event celebrates Mike Sullivan's work and marks renewed commitment to achieving the goal of a shared vision with the former First Minister Rhodri Morgan with whom Mike worked as special adviser that policy needs good research and research needs to engage with policy. In the last year of Mikes life, he recorded numerous dialogues with many of the prime movers and influencers in public policy during the first two decades of Welsh devolution reflecting especially on Rhodri Morgan's political legacy and the nature of the social democracy with a welsh stripe emerged. at this event, insights from these dialogues will be shared, with opportunity for discussion with some of the Ministers and Assembly Members who were involved. Other contributions will be made by colleagues who worked with Mike in several milestone achievements at Swansea University, including the establishment of international research partnerships and a remarkable relationship between Swansea University and Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton. The dialogue is being taken forward in an edited collection to be published by University of Wales Press. Contributors to this publication will be amongst the discussions at this event

Open to the public: Attendance at the event is by invitation only however the Senedd and the Pierhead will remain accessible to the public during our normal opening hours.
