EVENT: The Voice of a Child

Description: A talk chaired by Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales The United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child (UNCRC) is the most widely ratified human rights treaty in the world and as a company that works so extensively with children, WNO is pleased to support and facilitate this discussion. To mark the Convention’s 30th anniversary and the first sitting of Wales’ new Youth Parliament, we explore the role that young people play in democracy, and what steps are being taken in Wales to ensure that the views of young people are listened to, in accordance with Article 12. Confirmed speakers include: Sarah Hooke (Unicef), Mia Thorne (from Youth Advisory panel, Children’s Commissioner Wales), Naz Ismail (from Youth Advisory panel, Children’s Commission Wales), Ffion-Hâf Davies (Welsh Youth Parliament) plus more names to follow.
