Introduction, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest

Minutes:

Co-Chair Tom Giffard MS welcomed Members and the public to the meeting.

 

Apologies were received from Buffy Williams MS and Rhianon Passmore MS.

 

Hefin David MS attended the meeting as a substitute for Rhianon Passmore MS in accordance with Standing Order 17.48.

Motion under Standing Order 17.42(ix) to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of this meeting

Minutes:

The Co-Chair explained that Professor Rowena Hill and Richard Pickford from Nottingham Trent University had been commissioned to produce a gap analysis of the UK Covid-19 Public Inquiry’s Module 1 report. Dr Simon Williams, has also been appointed as a long-term expert adviser to the Committee. The academics were attending today’s meeting to provide an update on civil contingencies as well as an opportunity for Members to ask questions and shape the direction of their work in preparing the gap analysis which will assist the Committee in its evidence gathering to identify potential gaps that require further consideration.

 

As this session related to internal committee business the Co-Chair proposed that the item was held in private session.

 

The motion was agreed.
