Issues facing the Higher Education Sector - evidence session

2.1 The Committee heard evidence from Cardiff University.

2.2 Cardiff University agreed to provide Members with the following:

- a note on the University’s governance structure.

- the financial advice note from Moody’s.

- share with the Committee the report on entrepreneurial impact.

- they agreed to seek advice as to whether they could share the costs of due diligence for the establishment of transnational education in Kazakhstan.

2.3 The Committee also agreed to seek views from the wider sector about how higher education institutions can support economic development in a more coherent manner.

Routes into post-16 education and training - consideration of the key issues

Minutes:

6.1 The Committee considered the remainder of the key issues. The draft report would be considered at the future Committee meeting.

6.2 The Committee agreed to respond to the Welsh Government’s consultation on its proposed changes to the Learner Travel Operational Guidance, highlighting relevant gathering during the inquiry.
