1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.

1.2 Apologies were received from Hefin David MS, there was no substitute.

1.3 The Chair welcomed Heledd Fychan MS from the Culture, Communications, Welsh Language, Sport and International Relations Committee.

1.4 Under Standing Order 17.24A Cefin Cambell MS declared an interest as he was part of the development of Welsh Language and Education (Wales) Bill.

2.1 The Committee heard evidence from the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) and the Association of Directors of Education in Wales (ADEW)

2.2 The WLGA agreed to provide further information on whether all local authorities agree with the Bill’s statutory target of a million Welsh speakers.

3.1 The Committee heard evidence from Rhieni dros Addysg Gymraeg (RhAG).

4.1 The Committee heard evidence from the Education Workforce Council.

4.2 The Education Workforce Council agreed to provide a note on what factors are relevant in attracting prospective teachers.
