Nominations for committee chairs

The Presiding Officer will invite nominations for the chairs of the following committees, in accordance with Standing Order 17.2F:

1. Petitions Committee (Labour)

2. Standards of Conduct Committee (Labour)

The Presiding Officer invited nominations for the chairs of the following committees in accordance with Standing Order 17.2F:

Petitions Committee (Labour)

Hannah Blythyn nominated Rhianon Passmore. Mick Antoniw seconded the nomination.

Buffy Williams nominated Carolyn Thomas. Joyce Watson seconded the nomination.

As there were two nominations, the Presiding Officer referred the nominations to a secret ballot in accordance with Standing Order 17.2I.

Standards of Conduct Committee (Labour)

Julie Morgan nominated Hannah Blythyn. Lesley Griffiths seconded the nomination.

As there were no further nominations and no objections the Presiding Officer declared Hannah Blythyn elected as Chair of the Standards of Conduct Committee.

Motion to suspend Standing Orders

NNDM8655 Eluned Morgan (Mid and West Wales)

To propose that the Senedd, in accordance with Standing Orders 33.6 and 33.8:

Suspends Standing Order 12.20(i), and that part of Standing Order 11.16 that requires the weekly announcement under Standing Order 11.11 to constitute the timetable for business in Plenary for the following week, to allow NNDM8654 to be considered in Plenary on Tuesday, 17 September 2024.

To propose that the Senedd, in accordance with Standing Orders 33.6 and 33.8:

Suspends Standing Order 12.20(i), and that part of Standing Order 11.16 that requires the weekly announcement under Standing Order 11.11 to constitute the timetable for business in Plenary for the following week, to allow NNDM8654 to be considered in Plenary on Tuesday, 17 September 2024.

The motion was agreed in accordance with Standing Order 12.36.
