Stage 2 of the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill): allocation of meeting slots Minutes: Business Committee considered the allocation
of meeting slots to a Committee of the Whole Senedd for Stage 2 proceedings on
the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill, should the relevant motions be
agreed on 30 and 31 January. Following discussion, during which Darren Millar expressed concern
about Stage 2 proceedings taking place on the same day as the debate on the
Final Budget 2024-25, Business Committee agreed to allocate meeting slots after
the conclusion of Plenary on 5 March and 6 March to the Committee of the Whole
Senedd for Stage 2 proceedings on the Bill. The Trefnydd indicated that Government
business on 5 March would be limited to essential items. The Committee also agreed: ·
that
non-government business for Plenary on Wednesday 6 March be limited to
Questions to the Senedd Commission, Topical Questions, 90 Second Statements,
and the Short Debate; ·
to
consider nearer the time whether Plenary should start earlier on 5 and 6 March; ·
to
allocate a meeting slot to the Committee of the Whole Senedd immediately after
Plenary on 20 February for the purposes of considering any motion proposed by
the Llywydd, as Chair of the Committee of the Whole Senedd, in respect of the
order of consideration for Stage 2 proceedings on the Bill. |

Committee agreed to refer the SLCM on the Trade (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement
for Trans-Pacific Partnership) Bill to the Economy, Trade, and Rural Affairs
Committee and the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee for scrutiny,
with a reporting deadline of 15 March 2024. |
