This Week's Business

Tuesday

 

·         Plenary will start at the conclusion of the Committee of the Whole Assembly. The Committee of the Whole Assembly will start at 13.00.  There will be a 15 minute break after the Committee of the Whole Assembly concludes.

 

·         The Government has added two statements to the Plenary agenda

-     Statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Local Government and Public Services: Local Government (45 mins)

-     Statement by the Counsel General: Consultation on the Draft Legislation (Wales) Bill (30 mins)

 

·         Rhun ap Iorwerth asked whether The Welsh Language Standards (No.7) Regulations 2018 could be postponed from today’s Plenary agenda, in light of CWLC committee views on the need for more scrutiny.  The Leader of the House stated that she would discuss outside of committee with the relevant Minister.

 

·         Voting Time will take place at item 6 – this will be before the end of the meeting, as there are two statements after voting time which are not subject to a vote.

 

Wednesday

 

·         Business Managers have postponed the UKIP debate to the 18 April, in light of the estimated time allocated to Stage 3.

 

·         There will be a 15 minute break before Stage 3 proceedings begin.

 

·         Voting Time for Assembly business will take place at item 8, before Stage 3.  Voting will take place throughout Stage 3, and there will be a recorded vote on Stage 4 at the end of the meeting.

·         Rhianon Passmore’s short debate has been postpone to a future date, to be determined.

Business Committee determined the organisation of Assembly business and agreed to schedule the following items of business:

 

Wednesday 18 April 2018 –

·         Proposal to group the following two items for debate but with separate votes:

o    Motion to approve the Assembly's Dignity and Respect Policy (30 mins)

o   Motion to amend the Members’ Code of Conduct (30 mins) - at the request of the Standards of Conduct Committee

·         Time allocated to the United Kingdom Independence Party (60 mins) – postponed from 21 March

 

Wednesday 2 May 2018 –

·         Statement by the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee: Public Procurement (30 mins)

·         Member Debate under Standing Order 11.21(iv) (60 mins)

·         Time allocated to the United Kingdom Independence Party (60 mins)

Recess Dates

Minutes:

Business Managers confirmed the recess dates for October half term and Christmas recess 2018, and the provisional dates for Spring half term and Easter recess 2019.

Review of Standing Orders

Minutes:

The Minister for Government business agreed to bring forward a paper on what she considered to be the priorities for a review. 

 

The Secretariat will bring forward a paper on collating and publishing guidance that has been issued to Members by the Llywydd.
