Minutes: 2.1 The Chair welcomed the witnesses. Members questioned the witnesses on the implementation of the Learning and Skills (Wales) Measure 2009. Action Points · The Minister for Education and Skills agreed to provide examples of best practice where greater collaboration has resulted in financial savings. · The Minister for Education and Skills agreed to provide a note on the laptop pilot scheme. ·
The Chair agreed to write to the Minister for
Education and Skills with evidence of where schools are teaching modern foreign
languages outside of core schools hours. |

Action Point · The Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services agreed to provide further information on families in receipt of Income Support who are participating in the Flying Start programme. ·
The Deputy Minister for Children and Social
Services agreed to investigate claims whether LHB’s were freezing the recruitment
of generic Health Visitors as a result of the funding for additional Health Visitors
into the Flying Start programme. |
