The following amendments have been tabled:

Amendment 1 - Jocelyn Davies (South Wales East)

Add new point at end of motion:

Urges the Welsh Government to prioritise action to protect older people who are at risk of harm or unable to cope; and to safeguard their dignity.

Amendment 2 - William Graham (South Wales East)

Add new point at end of motion:

Calls upon the Welsh Government to respond to the challenges defined in “Calls from the Commissioner”.

Amendment 3 - William Graham (South Wales East)

Add new point at end of motion:

Calls upon the Welsh Government to establish a comprehensive and consistent advocacy service for older people in Wales.

Amendment 4 - William Graham (South Wales East)

Add new point at end of motion:

Believes that the Welsh Government should:

a) evaluate local schemes, aimed at assisting elderly people, which:

i) encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles and allow them to live safely within a supportive community thus avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions; and

ii) promote independent living; and

b) incorporate best practices into an all-Wales action plan on preventative health.

Debate on S4C

NDM4842 Jane Hutt (Vale of Glamorgan)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the recent agreement regarding S4C’s new partnership with the BBC;

2. Agrees that the Welsh Government should discuss with the UK government the need for a full review of the operation, governance and accountability of S4C, subject to the revised arrangements at S4C being given time to work; and

3. Agrees that there should be stronger links between S4C, other public service broadcasters and the National Assembly for Wales.

 

Decision:

The motion was agreed in accordance with Standing Order 12.36.
