Debate on The Welsh Language Commissioner's Annual Report 2012-13 NDM5337 Lesley Griffiths
(Wrexham) To propose that the
National Assembly for Wales: Notes the Welsh Language
Commissioner’s First Annual Report for 2012-13, laid before the Assembly on 26
September, which highlights the work undertaken by the Commissioner to promote
and facilitate the use of the Welsh language. The
following amendments have been tabled: Amendment 1 - Elin Jones (Ceredigion) Add new point at end of
motion: Regrets that the Welsh
Government has yet to publish Welsh language standards following the work of
the Commissioner. Amendment 2 - Aled Roberts (North Wales) Add as new point at end
of motion: Calls on the Welsh
Government to ensure that all bodies in receipt of Welsh Government funding
publish and implement a Welsh language policy. Amendment 3 - Aled Roberts (North Wales) Add as new point at end
of motion: Calls on the Welsh
Government to ensure that local authorities consult widely on developing Welsh
in Education Strategic Plans and that robust targets are put in place for their
