Legislation

4.1

Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill

Minutes:

Business Managers agreed in principle to refer the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill to the Health and Social Care Committee (HS) for Stage 1 consideration.

 

Business Managers agreed to defer a decision on the Bill’s timetable until next week to allow for consultation with the HS Committee.

Renting Homes (Wales) Bill

Minutes:

Business Managers confirmed their in principle decision of 20 January to refer the Renting Homes (Wales) Bill to the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee for Stage 1 consideration, and agreed the deadline for the Stage 1 Committee to report by as 26 June 2015 and the deadline for the completion of Stage 2 Committee proceedings as 9 October 2015.

5.1

Enterprise and Business Committee: Request to visit Manchester

Minutes:

Business Managers agreed a request from the Enterprise and Business Committee to visit the Greater Manchester Combined Authority on Thursday 5 March 2015, which means Members will have to leave the Assembly before the end of Plenary on the Wednesday.

Any Other Business

The Minister for Government Business raised the issue of the Committee to address the removal of the reasonable punishment defence for the physical chastisement of children. On 2 December 2014, Business Managers voted against scheduling a debate on the motion to agree the committee’s membership. Business Managers confirmed that their positions had not changed.
