The broader issue had been addressed by the Environment and Sustainability Committee’s Report on Energy Planning and Policy in Wales, which had been published in June 2012; and

The petitioner had not responded to a request for further comments on the issue.

In light of the publication of the Environment and Sustainability Committee’s report of inquiry into Energy Planning and Policy in Wales, the Committee agreed to ask the petitioners whether they have any final comments to make before bringing consideration of the petition to a close in the autumn.

The Committee considered an update to this petition.

 

Action

·         The Committee agreed to refer the petition to the Environment and Sustainability committee for further consideration

·         The Clerk to clarify whether the responsibility for the transportation aspect of windfarm developments over 50MW is retained by the UK Government

·         Dependent on the answer, the Committee agreed to write to the Department of Energy and Climate Change to seek its views on the issues raised by the petition.
