3.1 The Committee scrutinised Edwina Hart AM, Minister for Economy, Science and Transport. The Minister was supported by Mark Barry, Metro Special Adviser, Welsh Government and James Price, Director General, Economy, Science and Transport, Welsh Government.

 

3.2 The Minister agreed to provide a report on the chronology of events that led to the present position in respect of the Trans-European Transport Network and to update on progress in dealing with the exclusion of Wales from the proposed core network corridors and the Welsh Government’s engagement with the Commission to access funding.

 

3.3 The Minister also agreed within six months’ time to provide the Committee with the information on the progress made by the Implementation Group, which is tasked with the development of recommendations made in the Report published by the Metro Consortium “A Cardiff Capital Region Metro: impact study”.
