The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to;

·         close the petition as it was felt that there was little more that could be done to progress the petition in either specific or general terms; but in doing so

·         forward details of the petition to both Darren Millar AM and the Chair of the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee in light of their consideration of the Holiday Caravans (Wales) Bill.

The Committee considered correspondence from the Minister for Housing and Regeneration along with further information from the petitioner and agreed to write to:

 

1.   The Fire and Rescue Authority seeking their views on the petition and the risks raised;

2.   The Minister for Local Government and Government Business, given her responsibility for community fire safety; and

3.   The relevant umbrella bodies for the caravan industry to seek their views on the issues raised by the petition.

The Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to write to:

 

·         the Minister for Housing and Regeneration seeking his views on the petition;

·         Darren Millar AM seeking his views on whether the issues raised in the petition could be addressed in the Bill he has been given permission to introduce next year; and

·         Peter Black AM seeking his veiws on the petition, in light of his work on the Mobile Homes (Wales) Act 2013.
