The
Committee considered correspondence from the petitioner and agreed to close the
petition. In doing so, they also agreed
to write to the Minister seeking an update for the petitioner on the latest
position in relation to the small business rate relief scheme.

Minutes:
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to;
· take oral evidence on the petition;
· request a research brief on the current approach elsewhere in the UK particularly in Scotland;
· attend a site visit in due course;
· circulate to Members a copy of the Enterprise and Business Committee’s report on the Regeneration of Town Centres;
· notify the Cross Party Group on Small Shops about the petition; and
·
write to the Minister for Economy, Science and
Transport asking when the task and finish group will be providing a full
analysis on Business Rates.
