4 Consideration of Module 1 Report and discussion on the Committee’s approach to scrutiny and ways of working

The Committee considered its work plan and scrutiny of Module 1 and agreed:

 

  • That its regular fortnightly Committee meeting slot would start at 2:00pm (with the flexibility to vary the start time, if required)
  • As part of its scrutiny of Module 1, the Committee will undertake a public consultation, stakeholder engagement event and oral evidence sessions
  • To meet with the members of the Covid Committee Observation Group
  • To commission an expert panel to undertake a gap analysis which can be used as part of an evidence base to support the Committee’s work in scrutinising the Module 1 report

The Committee also considered the legal briefings on the procedures of requiring witnesses to take Oaths and Affirmations. A further paper was requested to explore the practical implementations and consequences of asking of witnesses taking an Oath or Affirmation.
