Minutes:
4.1 The Committee heard evidence from the Minister for Education and Welsh Language.
4.2 The Minister agreed to provide information on whether school absence data and intelligence on school absence is utilised as an early marker for mental illness amongst young people.
4.2 When available, the Minister agreed to share with the Committee the evaluation of the funding that was made available in 2021-22 for local authorities to provide additional emotional, mental health and well-being support to young people.
4.3 The Minister agreed to attend a future Committee meeting to discuss the support provided for young carers in school.

Minutes:
1.1 Members discussed the inquiry with education welfare officers, a representative from the principal youth officers group and a representative from the Welsh Local Government Association.
1.2 An education welfare officer service manager agreed to provide data relating to FPNs and information about the ‘Bridge Project’.
1.3 Clerks agreed to provide all panellists with an email address in case anyone has anything to add, or any additional evidence. There’ll be a note from the session to check.
